Recently, all the power went out in our office building. The office was pitch black, you couldn’t see your hands in front of your face, and people were panicked. The electricity was out for about 40 seconds, but just imagine if the power was out for hours. This scary experience can be made worse if you are not prepared. Good thing I had my flashlight!
Make sure you have the Five important supplies listed below in your office.
- Flashlight. Keep your flashlight on your desk or in a desk drawer where it is easily accessible. Make sure you check the batteries periodically and keep a extra set of batteries on hand.
- Bottled Water
- Non perishable food items. Granola and protein bars are great to keep on hand.
- Basic First Aid Kit
- A battery operated radio. This is not an exhaustive list but it is a great place to start. In case of an emergency you will be grateful that you have these items on hand. So, the next time you order your regular office supplies- paper, pens, and pencils do yourself a favor and pick up the items mentioned above as well.
